Another month, another GoodnessMe Box! The July GoodnessMe Box was full of goodies to help keep me healthy and happy all winter long. This box was less about snacks and more about drinks but that’s a-ok with me! So, let’s see what was in the vegan box this month shall we!
Shine Peach and Passionfruit
I’m not usually one for energy drinks, but was keen to give this one a try regardless. I definitely preferred that the ‘energy’ element comes from things like ginkgo biloba and siberian ginseng as opposed to anything artificially created. The peach and passionfruit flavour was really delicious as well. It’s hard to know exactly how much of an energy boost it gave me but it sure was tasty!
Hemp Protein Powder
I really like adding hemp seeds to my cooking, but haven’t really tried hemp protein powder before. I really enjoyed this one, the chocolate flavour was great and it wasn’t grainy either. I added this to my oats for breakfast and it made for a delicious, chocolately start to my day.
Chai Lords Chai Latte Powder
Given I spent most of this month working from home having hot drinks on hand was a must. Adding this chai to the mix was a definite highlight. Given it’s a powder it might not be the traditional way to make it, but it’s quick, easy and delicious that’s for sure. I have added this to my evening routine and I’m definitely happy about it!
Comvita Olive Leaf Lozenges
I was pretty happy to see these in the July GoodnessMe Box after coming down with a cold (thankfully just a cold though!). I wasn’t sure how they were going to taste but I was pleasantly surprised, and I found they did help relieve my sore throat. They do have manuka honey so aren’t actually vegan, but I did get an email from the GoodnessMe Box team apologising for the mixup the day my box arrived.
Mojo Kombucha Soda
My love of kombucha has been well documented around these parts, so I am always happy to see it in these boxes! This Mojo one was no exception and the tropical flavour was really tasty. It made for a refreshing post-lockdown walk after making full use of my 2-hour outdoor time on a sunny Sunday. I’ll need to pick more up for summer I think!
Daily Uplifter
I certainly wasn’t short on protein powder thanks to the July GoodnessMe Box! I was intrigued by this one as it also included pre and probiotics, green banana flour and other goodies. The vanilla flavour was great and it similarly worked well in my morning oats. This was a great sized bag as well and it’s given me a good chance to properly try it out – so far so good!
Phytoplankton Super Greens
I don’t usually feel the need to use superfood powders, but I also figure it can’t hurt in the middle of winter (especially in lockdown!). This one was interesting because it has a pineapple flavour, so is a little easier to face than some greens powders! I added it to a smoothie and it blended through really well.
Tilda Steamed Rice
I pretty much always use my rice cooker when I’m having rice for dinner, so hadn’t really used these pouches before. Given the extra waste they create I won’t be changing my approach long term, but this was handy to have for a quick dinner after a long work day.
Knowrish Well Immunity Tonic
Last but not least in the July GoodnessMe Box was this berry flavoured pouch of herbal extracts and vitamins. I folded this through some yoghurt and it made for a tasty topping to some berry-filled oats. One sachet is never going to show me whether it does help my immune system, but adding a boost of goodness to my diet sure can’t hurt!
