Major Major opened at the southern end of Smith Street late in 2014 and I visited not long after for lunch with my family and we were all mightily impressed with the food. B and I decided it was about time we returned to try their breakfast offerings and I actually remembered to take my camera this time!
Review: Xeom Street Food, Collingwood
On one of the recent very hot Melbourne days B and I decided to avoid doing any cooking and try one of the new restaurants to open on Smith Street recently – Xeom Street Food. Xeom does Vietnamese street food and the restaurant is brightly lit and welcoming. The walls are lined with jars, bottles and faux-propaganda posters and there are even a couple of tables set up like little carts.
Review: Easy Tiger, Collingwood
I first went to Easy Tiger earlier in the year for my dad’s birthday, and when we were trying to choose somewhere to have dinner while my sister was in Melbourne recently, we decided it was definitely time for another visit. The combination of delicious food, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere was just what we were after!
Pubs for Vegetarians: Grumpy’s Green
We decided it was time to add a new stop to the Pubs for Vegetarians tour of Melbourne we’ve been on, with a visit to Grumpy’s Green on Smith Street. Grumpy’s promotes itself as an eco-friendly pub with all food, beer and wine sourced locally, recycled furniture throughout the pub and capturing its rainwater on site to use in the bathrooms. These are all positives in my book!
Pubs for Vegetarians: The Gasometer Hotel
It’s been a while since I posted the last stop on my Pubs for Vegetarians tour, so I thought it was about time I headed out and tried somewhere new to share with you all! In the end I didn’t have to venture far as we decided to head back to the The Gasometer Hotel which is only a few minutes walk away! B and I had eaten there once before, but the menu changes seasonally, so we decided it was time for another visit to see what they have on offer at the moment!
