As someone who talks about slowing down and simplifying a lot it might sound odd that there are things I want to do more of this year. But never fear, they are all still in the vein of having a more fulfilling, meaningful year. I’d love to hear about anything you want to add to your life in 2018 as well!
Use My Cookbooks More
I have a pretty good collection of vegetarian cookbooks, and while I use them as inspiration I don’t cook from them anywhere near enough. This year I want to make an effort to actually use them more – there’s a reason I buy them! Now my biggest challenge is working out where to start!
I have gotten out of the habit of regularly reading before bed and it’s definitely impacting on my sleep. So, this year I intend on get back into my evening rhythm and make sure that includes lots of books. If you’ve got any recommendations I’d love to hear them!
Listen To More Music
Since getting well and truly on the podcast-listening bandwagon my music listening has taken a back seat. This year I want to even things out and make sure I spend plenty of time with music on as well. This probably means cutting back on some of the podcasts I was subscribed to, but it will be worth it.
Explore More Of Melbourne
I’m lucky that I live in a part of Melbourne full of great places to eat and drink, as well as markets and the like. The downside of that is I don’t regularly travel to other locations on the weekends to see what they have to offer. This year I want to do just that, and I have no doubt I’ll find some gems along the way!
Use Up Ingredients
I have a decent sized pantry in my kitchen but the shelves are narrow but deep, so things tend to get lost in there. I also have lots of half-filled containers of ingredients, and I don’t want them to go to waste. So, at least for the next little while I’m committing to using things up and then only buying what I need as replacement. Hopefully it will help me keep my pantry in order!
