April Favourite Finds 2018

Another month is down, so it’s time for my April Favourite Finds for 2018! April was a mixed month for me, it started positively with family here from New Zealand to celebrate my mum’s 60th Birthday, but also had some much sadder times when we had to say goodbye to my Nan. Needless to say, it’s been a family-centric month and that’s a-ok with me. I did manage to find myself some new goodies to try though!

Recipe: Hazelnut Dukkah

Dukkah is one of those things that I forget how versatile it is until I have some in my kitchen again, and that’s definitely been the case since I whipped up this hazelnut dukkah! I’ve been using it on pretty much everything – salads, eggs at breakfast, dips or just as is with some bread and oil. It’s so simple to whip up but adds an amazing burst of flavour, I really should remember to make it more often!

Recipe: Orange Pecan Granola

This is one of the times I wish we had improved technology to the point that you could share scents through the computer because this orange pecan granola smells amazing! I’ve been having a regular sourdough-avocado-eggs breakfast for a little while now but with the return of sunny, warmer weather I decided it was time to have something a bit lighter and homemade granola was just the ticket!

Recipe: Nut and Seed Granola

Earlier in the year my dad was put on a sulfite free diet and whilst it hasn’t been too tricky for lunches and dinners, he has found breakfast to be a little less fun. He’s a muesli lover from way back and dried fruits are now a big no-no which limits his options somewhat. I decided to help brighten his mornings a little by whipping up a batch of granola that was free from any fruits but instead packed full of nuts and seeds. I gave it to him with a bottle of my cashew milk and he was a very happy camper!
